Rapper Big Pooh Signs With Mello Music Group, Plans To Release Album With Nottz
Founding Little Brother member Rapper Big Pooh has had a busy solo career for almost a decade. The Virginia native famously made Sleepers, the first solo project from the (other) LB Fam, back in 2005. He’s followed with a series of retail mixtapes, albums, series, and a host of projects in the Pooh catalog.
This week, it was announced that Pooh has signed with Mello Music Group, the Tucson, Arizona-based label that’s released acclaimed independent Hip-Hop such as O.C. & Apollo Brown’s Trophies (2012), Quelle Chris’ Ghost At The Finish Line (2013), and The Left’s Gas Mask (2010).
Although the title and whatnot is TBD, Mello says that a project with Pooh’s longtime homie Nottz is coming in Summer, 2014. He’ll follow that with an EP with the label’s in-house team. The Nottz project has been in discussion for over two full years before getting some shine.
With the news, they’re offering a free download of “Juk,” (featuring new label-mate Stik Figa) from the imprint’s recently-released Mandala, Vol. 2: Today’s Mathematics label compilation:
