Saigon’s Next Album To Feature 3-4 DJ Premier Tracks & Big Daddy Kane?
Saigon’s The Greatest Story Never Told album featured one of the most exciting production lineups for any debut artists. Although it was released over five years after originally planned, on a different label than commissioned it, the album featured production by Just Blaze, with involvement from Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, and Buckwild, among others.
While The Yardfather has since released a follow-up installment of The Greatest Story Never Told, his third is quickly shaping up. In a recent interview with The NY Hip-Hop Report, the Abandoned Nation veteran revealed that it is DJ Premier who is producing the bulk of his third studio album.
“I was in a position where I was able to do everything my way,” Saigon said, claiming he’s deeply proud of the results. “I’ve never been in a situation where I could walk into something and not have no label politics, and not have somebody telling me something… This one was 100% me.”
Coming in May of this year, Sai Giddy continued, “It’s executive produced by Just Blaze, but DJ Premier did the majority of the production on the record. Just [Blaze] got a record on there, but DJ Premier is really at the helm.”
Wikipedia says that one such collaboration on the LP includes Big Daddy Kane, but the pair have never released music together before.
