So many interviews with Marion “Suge” Knight are predictable. The Compton, California native will usually find a way to spill controversy into any statement he makes, likely focusing on defaming targets ranging from former partners like Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, to longtime foe Diddy.

Enter Arsenio Hall, a longtime friend of the former Death Row Records co-founder and nearly 20-year CEO. Arsenio throws up a soft-ball question about Suge helping artists get better deals… which the former Los Angeles Rams replacement player allegedly did, with everybody from DJ Quik and Bow Wow to Mary J Blige and others, all off-label acts.

But Suge’s answer doesn’t quite go where you might expect…

As always, Suge talks, and talks, and talks, working in comparisons from The D.O.C., to Game, to Kendrick Lamar. Is this an artful dodge (read: blame game), or is the onetime owner of 63 cars, four mansions, and a fishtank full of starved piranhas the only exec talkin’ truth?
