Two artists from the post-Underground Hip-Hop glory years are Rapper Big Pooh and Roc C. Former products of ABB and Stones Throw Records, respectively, this pair has survived the times with style and grace. These independent acts have a new album together, in step with Roc’s collaborative LP with Jurassic 5’s Chali 2na, and Pooh’s upcoming joint with fellow Virginia native Nottz.

For “The Crew,” the two describe their circles, and what brought ’em together.

Trouble In The Neighborhood drops next month on Nature Sounds Recordings’ affiliate label, Greene Streets—word to Pete Rock’s old studio.
