Along with Tupac Shakur, N.W.A., and Jimi Hendrix, another musical icon has a biopic in the works. James Brown, The Godfather Of Soul, is the subject of a film, according to “The Today Show” (as shared by egotrip).

The film, Get On Up, will star Chadwick Boseman, who played Jackie Robinson in 42. Also appearing are Jill Scott (playing Brown’s second wife), and Craig Robinson playing De La Soul’s homie, the incomparable Maceo Parker. Perhaps most notably, The Rolling Stones’ front-man Mick Jagger, now in his seventies, is producing the film about his former friend and inspiration. Also producing is Oscar-winning Brian Grazer (The Help).
