The Roots Premiere A New Song That Speaks To Everyman (Audio)

Although The Roots worked with Elvis Costello in 2013, it’s been some months since the Heads were treated to a completely Roots Crew jam. That changed today with “When The People Cheer.” While the record might sound entertainment-specific in the title, it’s some great Everyman Rap that furthers the tradition in recent Roots LPs. Although just a radio rip, the quality is better than some, and seems to feature loose affiliate as of late, STS (aka Sugar Tongue Slim), who works with Black Thought and Dice Raw in the MMJB (Money Makin’ Jam Boys).

With their late night show status in tact, how do you feel about the challenges and experiments the Philadelphia legends have made over the course of the last five years? With this sounding dark, along the lines of undun, how excited are you for an LP based on this early glimpse?
