Kanye West Is Recording His Next Album Where?

Kanye West has certainly made the most of his Def Jam Records album budgets. Starting in 2009, G.O.O.D. Music’s founder set up shop in Hawaii, living with his collaborators by day, and recording by night the sessions for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. There were accounts of Pete Rock and Rick Ross having waffles together, with RZA and Kid Cudi also at the table, making the incredible 2010 magnum opus.

A year later, Kanye West and Jay Z set up a mobile studio in the hallowed halls of New York City’s Mercer Hotel, for a leak-proof Watch The Throne Album, that was literally confined to a hard-drive, with studio equipment on wheels. The celebration of decadence had high-living in its genealogy.

Beginning in 2012, ‘Ye relocated to Paris, France to start on Yeezus. With everybody from Yasiin Bey to Chief Keef to Rhymefest to Kim Kardashian beside him, the self-proclaimed “international asshole” got some fresh stamps in his passport, as he walked out with an avant-garde experimental LP, drenched in fashion.

Italian newspaper La Nazione reports that Mr. West is now in Florence, Italy, hard at work on whatever may be next.

Just knowing that alone, what do you expect?
