On May 27, Skyzoo & Torae will release their debut collaborative album, Barrel Brothers. After a decade of collaborations, the Brooklyn independent mainstays are teaming with Fokis’ Loyalty Digital imprint and Empire Distribution to offer Heads a full glimpse at the chemistry from the vets, who have found success in satellite radio and indie film, respectively.

The Barrel Brothers album sampler is now available, showcasing snippets of the LP’s involvement from DJ Premier (who twice helped bring these two together in the collective consciousness), Black Milk, Guilty Simpson, !llmind, Oh No, and Sean Price.

After Sky’s charting successes in the past, and Tor’s cosigns from Pete Rock, Diamond D, and others, is this unified front going to be a game-changer for the true school torch-carriers?
