Dilated Peoples, comprised of DJ Babu, Rakaa, and Evidence, formed together in 1992 and have gone through some turmoil between themselves and their mainstream label affiliation with Capitol Records throughout their 20 plus years in Hip-Hop. But the group has grown since those days and without the struggle, we may not be receiving their upcoming album, Director’s Of Photography, in the same way we will on August 12.

The team seems rejuvenated after an eight year hiatus from their last album, 20/20, and have unleashed some smashes from their upcoming album with the Aloe Blacc assisted “Show You The Way,” and the bumping DJ Premier laced video to “Good As Gone.”

While the team is currently traveling with Jurassic 5 on their Word Of Mouth tour, Dilated takes some time out of their schedule to explain the trials and tribulations that have led them to this point in their extensive career. The short trailer proves that no matter how long you’ve been in the game, there is always room left for growing, learning, and finding focus within your passions. That being said, it seems Dilated Peoples have zeroed in on what they’ve been missing as of late and fans can expect to hear more of that attention to detail in just a few weeks.
