Timbaland Says He’s Never, Ever Seen Missy Elliott Record

This is the third decade that Timbaland and Missy Elliott have recorded together. Two of the artists who helped put the state of Virginia on the Hip-Hop map have made massive hits with each other, including “What About Us?,” “Here We Come,” and “The Rain,” among plenty others. However, in over 15 years, there’s one catch: Timbo has never seen Misdemeanor cut a verse.

Wait, what?

Timbaland spoke to Rolling Stone regarding Missy’s seventh studio album, believed to be called Block Party. Although no release date is on the books, whenever it drops, this’ll be Missy’s first LP since 2005’s The Cookbook. “It’s on her,” he said. “She got the first single, it’s just a matter of when she wants to do it,” said the Roc Nation-backed super-producer.

However, if you wanna know how the longtime Elektra-then-Atlantic Records star records her other-wordly joints?

“I’ve never watched her record, never in my whole career,” Tim told Rolling Stone. “I do it, she be like, ‘Okay, I got it,’ and I leave the room. She kicks us out. That’s how she do it: She does everything herself.”

Do you think Missy can make another album that brings Hip-Hop’s raw creative spirit into the mainstream?
