Beyonce’s Dad Says Jay Z & Solange’s Elevator Fight Was Staged For Sales (Video)

Springtime did not blossom as Jay Z and Beyonce may have planned. On Sunday night (August 24), the Carter couple seemingly laid to rest paparazzi speculation that they, young parents, were in currently facing a divorce. Beyonce closed the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) with a jaw-dropping medley, and serenading her husband and daughter on air with words and affection.

The rumored turmoil began in May, when leaked security camera footage showed Beyonce’s sister, Solange Knowles, attacking her brother-in-law in a Manhattan elevator. Spokespeople for the Carters later released a statement calling the tension resolved, “…the most important thing is that our family has worked through it…”

While Beyonce is on her latest world tour, an elaborate choreographed, multimedia show that MTV viewers caught a glimpse of, her father, music mogul Mathew Knowles has stepped forward regarding the 2014 the blended families have had.

The Houston, Texas-based Knowles, who has experienced divorce first hand, spoke on video to local radio station KRBE 104.1 FM:

“[They needed something to] ignite that tour. It’s called a Jedi mind trick. A Jedi mind trick fools you a lot of the time. [Snaps fingers] All I know is everyone is talking about it. Ticket sales went up, Solange’s album sales went up 200%…,” said Mr. Knowles, who, in the mid-2000s, signed De La Soul to his Sanctuary Records imprint, where they released The Grind Date.

Is this a clean-up attempt, or could Jay, Bey’, and Solange have taken a page from the famous 50 Cent handbook?
