Chuck D Links With Mavis Staples Of The Staple Singers To Groove (Video)

Both Public Enemy and The Staple Singers have made uplifting jams for the people of their audience. Whether it’s “Don’t Believe The Hype” or “Respect Yourself,” Chuck D and Mavis Staples made timeless songs of hope, truth, and unification.

On Mistachuck’s new self-released EP, The Black In Man, he teamed with the Grammy Award-winning 75 year-old R&B/Gospel/Soul singer, who is strongly involved in Civil Rights. The pair made “Give We The Pride,” which is a homogenous blend of Soul, Rap, and a timeless break beat backdrop.

Note the video includes some legendary labels like Chess Records in the backdrop, Willie Dixon’s Blues Garden, and more landmarks of Black music.
