Ten years ago, would you ever imagine Ghostface Killah (then a key Def Jam acquisition) and Elzhi (then running with Slum Village) together? BADBADNOTGOOD & Ghost’s Sour Soil makes that happen on “Gunshowers.” This intricate instrumentation opens the gate for El’ and Starks to bombard the microphone with sharp verbals, that shower the track with explosions.

After the Danny Brown feature earlier this year, the Ontario/Michigan influence from BAD’ really shines through on these sessions, and certainly seems to work lovely.

Are collaborations like these one of the saving graces of the decentralized wave of Internet Hip-Hop?
