Funkmaster Flex, DJ Red Alert & Chuck Chillout Hit Airwaves With 5 Hours Of Master-Mixes (Audio)

For Funkmaster Flex’s Christmas Eve show (December 24) Wednesday night on HOT 97, the Bronx, New York DJ invited some of his peers and inspirations to the Manhattan studios. Hip-Hop pioneers Kool DJ Red Alert and Chuck Chillout joined Flex for five hours of merry Hip-Hop from three icons of the cut.

In addition to Red Alert’s legendary ad-libs and styles, Heads can hear a buffet of break-beats, Spoonie Gee, Whodini (with a dedication to the late Larry Smith), and more. By the third hour (as it is tracked out), the mix gets into step with Hip-Hop, hitting the 1988-1994 pocket, where all three of these men played such a massive factor together.

Three Bronx legends playing classic records, making radio feel like its everything it could be…what a holiday gift this moment in time is.
