It was a largely quiet 2014 for Eightball & MJG. The latter of the duo released a 2.0 version of his late 2013 LP, Too Pimpin’, while ‘Ball saved his spit for a really cool Bar-Kays feature that bridged the gap from 1970s Memphis and 1990s Memphis music.

2015 is off to a gallant start though. Teaming with MC Rehab and respected Atlanta-based producer DJ Burn One (Pill, Freddie Gibbs, Rittz), ‘Ball & ‘G release “Run & Get The Money.” The song is rooted in the pursuit of paper, but pays homage to love, positivity, and Soul music. The musicality of this track is a welcomed renaissance for the onetime Suave House stars, who embrace gliding tracks like these, as well as hyper-aggressive club tracks, akin to their 2012 Live From The Underground look.

This is a major coming out moment for Rehab, and hopefully a sample of many finding Eightball & MJG in Burn One’s kitchen.
