Over five years removed from Boy Meets World, Fashawn solo product may feel estranged from record store shelves, but the Fresno, California MC has been anything but stagnant. Ranging from charting joint efforts with Murs to two Alchemist-assisted mixtapes, to a host of videos, singles, and Grizzly City projects, Fash’ been busy.

Now a center-piece at Nas’ Mass Appeal Records imprint, the onetime Exile protege is poised to confirm a release date to his sophomore solo effort, The Ecology. Taking its name from the Planet Asia-assisted single on the 2009 debut, the second LP promises to be big and less than a month away (February 24). Aware that it’s been a second, Fashawn gets right to work on “Guess Who’s Back.” The song shows the Nas influence, the progression in sound and delivery, and a chorus that aims to go big or go home:
