Red Pill Goes To Work While Oddisee Goes Diggin’ (Audio)

Red Pill is moving fast with a battery in his back. After a few years of payin’ dues (or as he says on “Smile,” 10,000 hours), the Lansing, Michigan MC and Ugly Heroes member may have found the perfect home at Mello Music Group.

Fresh off of speaking up about the global issues surrounding race on “All Of Us” alongside Apollo Brown, R.P. links with Mello’s other flagship producer, Oddisee for “Smile.” Red looks back at his childhood with gratitude and grace, admitting that you can’t help but smile, no matter how many tears are behind you. This song sounds inspired by Atmosphere with it’s reflection and flow, but yet something all its own.

Meanwhile, Oddisee slices up some David Axelrod, which is all fair, given that this joint joins “All Of Us” and “One Day” in a three-song Learning To Punch freebie.
