In Hip-Hop, film and music videos are often of blurred lines. From Krush Groove to Murder Was The Case, plots often pause to show artists expressing themselves in cinematic vignettes.

Loisaidas, the new film executive produced by Damon Dash and Kanye West is no exception. In a 17-minute reel-style “episode,” Heads can get a NSFW (violence, language) glimpse of the film co-written by Dash. Set in New York City, the work—starring Jadakiss, Sheek Louch, Cam’ron, Styles P, Murda Mook, and Smoke DZA appears to be a crime thriller.

Intercut with the film footage, Heads get some music segments that double as videos. The LOX get one of their finest independent-era produced visuals (from last year’s EP), while DZA and others are offered NYC-based drops. Product placement, from Dash Motors Oil to Dusko liquor also creep into the frame, along with cameos by the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder himself.

With a pre-order already in tow, could this work revive the excitement that surrounded State Property or Streets Is Watching? Do you think ‘Ye’s involvement is from a place of interest, or respect and gratitude?

Does this film footage whet your appetite?
