Snoop Dogg & Kendrick Lamar Snoop Dogg & Kendrick Lamar May Be Working on Their First Record Together

From MC Eiht, to E-40, and of course his Aftermath Entertainment backer, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar has worked with his share of West Coast Hip-Hop O.G.’s. However, besides the 2012 BET Cypher (also including DJ Quik), Snoop Dogg and Kendrick have not had the studio collaboration.

After all, in August of 2011, it was Snoop Dogg, Game, Kurupt, and Dr. Dre who yielded K-Dot “the torch” at Hollywood’s Music Box Theatre, following the release of Section.80.

In the last week, however, Snoop posted multiple studio photographs to Instagram, suggesting that work with Kendrick Lamar may in fact be in the can.

Both artists have been mentored by Dr. Dre and receiving their first taste of platinum on Interscope-distributed releases (almost 20 years apart), this could be a monumental moment for each MC. Previously, Snoop helped usher in, and microphone-certify the likes of The Game, Bad Azz, Xzibit, Tray Deee, and others through early collaborative work—in addition to his own bevy of developed acts.

Kendrick Lamar tends to bring out the best in MCs he shares the track with. Is this the ultimate shine of generational solidarity in California?
