Yelawolf Gets The Led Out As He Uncoils A Dazed & Confused Freestyle (Audio)

In 2014, Yelawolf revived his tradition of busting raps over Classic Rock tracks. Pink Floyd, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, and a more contemporary backdrop in Primus were some of the textures the Alabama MC/singer sourced. In 2015, he’s back at it yet again. Led Zeppelin’s “Dazed & Confused” was one of the earliest tracks heard by Rock Heads back in 1969 when they dropped the British Band’s self-titled debut on the turntable platters and/or in the 8-track. Druggy, Bluesy, and anxious, the song—a deep cut-turned-hit lives up to its name.

One could make a case for Yela’ in a similar space. With Love Story delayed, the Shady Records sensation has been playing with his sounds, veering into some Folk-Pop, Hip-Hop, and in cases like this, his Rock-Rap roots. On the Led groove, Yela’ digs in, and raps with agility, finesse, and a profound hunger.
