20 Years After “I Got 5 On It,” Tha Luniz Reunite, With 4/20 Album Plans

Oakland, California duo Tha Luniz have been separated for more than a decade. However, Yukmouth and Numbskull have announced a reunion, 20 years following breakthrough hit “I Got 5 On It” and its platinum LP, Operation Stackola. The Dru Down and Digital Underground proteges, respectively, will release High Timez on April 20, according to a HipHopDX report, following a Murder Master Music Show appearance.

“It’s one good album,” Numbskull said of High Timez, following his recent prison release. “It’s what they been waiting for. They been waiting for the Luniz and I think we’re giving them exactly what they want. Everybody out here getting high. Why wouldn’t we give’em songs that’s talking about getting high?”

Former C-Note Records label-mate Dru Down will appear, along with Ras Kass and B-Legit. No label has been announced, though Numbskull vehemently denied the work being a mixtape.

Tha Luniz last released Silver & Black in 2002, on Rap-A-Lot Records, where Yukmouth was a prominent solo artist for years following.
