Big Sean’s Dark Sky Paradise continues to be a highlight within the 2015 album landscape. With catchy anthems, thematic singles, and signature wordplay-driven cuts, there’s more. “One Man Can Change The World” is the pensive ambition. The song, a Getting Out Our Dreams ensemble, with Kanye West and John Legend, is an album focal point.

Champagne Sean appears in a black-and-white dedication to the Detroit, Michigan MC’s grandmother, Mildred V. Leonard. According to a press release, Mildred was among the first female Black captains in World War II. Ms. Leonard later became one of the first Black female police officers in Detroit and served 30 years with the Detroit Public School System as a teacher and counselor.
