Anderson .Paak Got Co-Signs From Dr. Dre AND DJ Premier. Here’s His Latest (Audio)

Anderson .Paak, the Los Angeles talent featured more prominently on Dr. Dre’s Compton than any other artist (outside of the good doctor himself, of course) has released a collaborative EP with Blended Babies, a production duo whose work with artists like Ab-Soul, Freddie Gibbs, Kid Cudi, and the Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach make them a versatile team, a versatility matched perfectly by Anderson, whose status as a prolific drummer, singer, rapper, and producer is beginning to attract the attention of some of the industry’s biggest powerhouses.

Their new E.P., titled The Anderson .Paak EP, will drop September 25 and will feature music recorded before Anderson’s Compton work, giving his most newly acquired fans an opportunity to hear the work that made giants like Dr. Dre and DJ Premier take notice (“Animals,” one of the most acclaimed tracks on Compton, was co-produced by Dre & Premo and was originally an Anderson .Paak song). The project features appearances from Donnie Trumpet, Asher Roth, & King Chip, who appears on the EP’s first single, “So Slow.” Check it out.
