Now in his second week of his new tenure as host of the “Late Show,” Stephen Colbert has already amassed an impressive list of musical guests including Toby Keith and Kendrick Lamar. Last night, El-P and Killer Mike graced the stage as Run the Jewels, performing “Angel Duster” off their 2014 monster of an album, Run the Jewels 2. The fact the two are still performing a nearly year-old song to a tremendously excited audience speaks volumes about their appeal and contributions to Hip-Hop, but what made this performance particularly dynamic was their backup band. The fellas brought along TV on the Radio, an Indie Rock outfit who provided some dope live instrumentation to Run the Jewels’ live energy. Check it out.
