Action Bronson Reveals What Will Keep Him In An Alaskan Hospital For Weeks (Audio)

Yesterday (October 27), Action Bronson posted to Instagram that had undergone an emergency surgery while filming in Alaska. The Queens, New Yorker notified fans that he was okay, but did not reveal a cause for the rush hospitalization. Hours after the news broke, TMZ revealed that prior to his unexpected hospital visit, the Mr. Wonderful artist had eaten whale blubber, raw caribou, and other foods.

This morning (October 28), the Vice/Warner Bros. Records artist and host of “F*ck, That’s Delicious” called into HOT 97’s Ebro In The Morning show to clarify reports. “I did eat whale blubber—several types,” Bronson told Ebro, Peter Rosenberg and Laura Stylez. “I had all types of indigenous Alaskan native [food], man. [But] it wasn’t what put me in the hospital. This was [caused by] an old power-lifting injury from when I was a young man,” said the 31 year-old.

Ebro, apparently already aware that the injury was in fact a hernia, asked if Bronson had surgery on this prior. “That shit doesn’t [always] work. Because I’m so active, and physical, and such a physical performer, that shit doesn’t stick some times.” However, while Bronson is recovering, the New Yorker is unable to return home for “several weeks,” as he believes. He did reveal that he has lost more than 50 pounds, with plans to lose 50 more.

Due to the injury, Bronson said he had to turn down tickets to sit behind home plate in Game 2 of the 2015 World Series in Kansas City, Missouri. “Tech N9ne invited me to sit behind the plate with him,” said the MC. Strange Music’s two founders, Tech N9ne and Travis O’Guin are frequently seated behind the home plate of Kansas City Royals regular season and playoff games.
