In addition to his acclaimed work with C.L. Smooth, Pete Rock has produced albums for the likes of Smif-n-Wessun, 80 Blocks From Tiffany’s, and I.n.I. The Mount Vernon, New York MC/DJ/producer is adding a new artist to the repertoire: Smoke DZA.

The Harlem, New York MC worked with P.R. for his latest and third release, 2014’s Dream.ZONE.Achieve, on the closer, “Achieve.” The news was made months ago, via a video interview with HipHopSince1987, and reported by WatchLoud—who witnessed an on stage announcement, confirming the yet-untitled album was near completion.

Do you think this collaboration will extend the work of each artist to new audiences?
