On paper, Bad Lucc and DJ Rhettmatic may seem like they come from the opposite sides of Los Angeles, California’s Hip-Hop. Lucc is a Diamond Lane Music Group flagship, and one of the veterans who first made noise care of Snoop Dogg’s Dubb Union. Rhettmatic, is a Beat Junkies and Visionaries co-founder, known for his work with J Dilla, Ras Kass, and Wedding-inspired mixtapes.

However, the two vets come together for a surprise mixtape called Inhale/Exhale. Backed by Diamond Lane and Jamla, this tape serves as a catch-up release for Bad Lucc, as well as a re-positioning of the MC. Within, Heads can hear some of the late 2000s work, even down to his recent Indie 500 get-down with Rapsody. Besides Rap’, guests include Talib Kweli, Crooked I, Jay Rock, Frank Nitt and others. Rhett’ keeps the mix alive and prosperous, and blends the old-with-the-new as he is a proven master of.
