Approaching Album No. 2, YG’s Narrative & Throwback Sound Isn’t Budging (Audio)

Two years ago, YG’s My Krazy Life was a fan favorite, peaking at #2 on the charts. The CTE World/Def Jam Records star is hard at work on a follow-up. Reportedly called Still Krazy, the 2016 LP is shaping up to be the perfect extension of the G-Funk renaissance.

“City Mad” is the gritty sort of song that YG’s made since his mixtape days. The record is about how the divided neighborhoods within the city of Compton cannot accept his success. YG pushes on, with homies Slim400 and Mozzy on a 1990s-styled P-Lo track, unaffected by the haters.
