J. Cole’s “Love Yourz” is one of the songs at the center of the mid-2010s Hip-Hop “love movement.” Cole, and collaborator Kendrick Lamar (and another Cole collaborator, Oddisee) have all made made anthems urging one another to love themselves on a deeper, focused level.

From 2014 Forest Hills Drive, Cole makes a visual for the single using some of the same footage and captured spirit from his recent HBO special. On tour, Heads can see J. Cole and his extensive team of friends savoring the moment, smiling big, living the “dream,” and counting their blessings.

The lyrics to the song are especially poignant, about keeping superficial things in perspective.
