Xzibit Cast As Crooked Record Executive In Upcoming “Empire” Episodes

Veteran MC Xzibit has made a solid career out of acting. In addition to his hosting on series such as MTV’s Pimp My Ride, the onetime Loud Records star lyricist has appeared in XXX: State Of The Union, 8 Mile, and TV reboot Hawaii Five-O.

According to Deadline, Mr. X-to-the-Z will get a major role in the upcoming episodes of Empire. The FOX program has reportedly cast the Likwit Crew standout to play the antagonist to Lucious Lyon, one of the show’s leads, played by Terrence Howard. Xzibit’s character’s name is Leslie “Shyne” Johnson, no relation to the real-life former Bad Boy Records artist.

As Deadline writes, “[Shyne] has managed artists, started record imprints and even sold a few units here and there, but his bread and butter always has been — much to his years-long frustration — drugs, guns and extortion.”

Season 2 of Empire began airing in September, 2015 and is currently running.
