Faith Evans Is Working On A Duets Album Featuring Vocals Of Her & Biggie (Audio)

The Notorious B.I.G. and Faith Evans were husband and wife, parents, Bad Boy Records label-mates and collaborators together. Married for just two-and-a-half years before Biggie’s 1997 murder, Evans would appear on “One More Chance,” in addition to B.I.G. tribute song, “I’ll Be Missing You.”

Approaching 20 years since the unsolved fatal drive-by shooting of her former husband, Faith Evans is recording an album pairing her vocals with his (24:30). The project is called The King & I.

“Right now I’m recording this project, a duet album with me and B.I.G. called The King & I. That’s something I’ve been thinking and talking about doing with Ms. Wallace for a long time,” Faith told Dame Dash on his radio show. She calls in near the 23:00 mark. With blessing from her onetime mother-in-law, she added, “I’m kind of in the finishing stages.”

Faith Evans, who was with Bad Boy as an artist in the ’90s and early 2000s, appeared on two songs on 2005’s Duets: The Final Chapter, “1970 Something” and “Living The Life.” Additionally, Evans was credited as a producer on 1999’s Born Again posthumous LP. Her reported remix with Will Smith of “Party & Bullshit” would not be included on the album.

“If he was alive, I know we would have done something like this. But the way it’s coming together and the way I’m using his vocals, it’s just giving stuff new life. It’s totally different. I think people are gonna like it,” she says near the 25:00 mark. Faith also adds that a hologram is a possibility for a music video and performing.

Evans last released sixth album, Incomparable in 2014.
