Digable Planets Are Back In Orbit With 2016 Tour Dates

It has been nearly 25 years since Hip-Hop trio the Digable Planets released their hit, “The Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like Dat).” Made up of members from Silver Spring, Maryland (Ladybug Mecca), Seattle, Washington (Ish f/k/a Butterfly), and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Doodlebug), the Elektra Records act was part of the early 1990s Jazz-Rap movement. Their debut, 1993’s Reachin’ (A New Refutation Of Space and Time) would achieve gold-certified status. However, following 1994’s Blowout Comb, the Planets shifted, and the band would separate in 1995.

In the time since, all members would focus on solo careers. Ish, in particular, found success with experimental Rap act Shabazz Palaces in the 2010s.
