Planet Asia’s career benefited greatly from Sway & King Tech’s The Wake Up Show. When P.A. (along with Jurassic 5) were Interscope Records label picks from the West Coast Hip-Hop Underground, they got massive spots on 1999’s This Or That, the hallmark album from Sway, Tech, and DJ Revolution.

In the 15-plus years since, the Fresno, California MC has released handfuls of projects, including a tandem LP with Cypress Hill’s DJ Muggs, and heralded work with groups like Cali Agents, Durag Dynasty, and more. However, with all the touring and ceaseless recording, the MC is still just as connected to the craft as he was in the ’90s. Appearing on Sway In The Morning, P.A. discusses the tensions of Fresno, and why they must cease.

Just after the 4:00 marks, he is the latest contestant on the 5 Fingers Of Death freestyle challenge. Taking on beats by Black Moon, Ras Kass, and more, Asia goes off the top and even takes on some prompts from Sway and the staff. Like another Wake Up Show affiliate, Supernatural, this Cali Agent still has a license to kill beats in the name of freestyle fun.

Check out additional 5 Fingers Of Death performances.
