This month, Statik Selektah opened up the roll-out to his album, appropriately titled 8. “Smoke Break” features 2 Chainz, and represented a directional shift for the Def Jam Records star, as well as a bit of an an extension for the producer/DJ/radio host who has worked with much of the industry.

For the corresponding video, Statik and Tity Boi keep it simple. Naturally, given the single’s title, much of the visual is focused on rolling up in the studio. 2 Chainz talks his Rap politics, while Statik evokes that Soul Jazz sound from a vintage keyboard. The pair do what they are prone to do, along with some cool shots of a cloudy day in Midtown Manhattan.
