Bishop Nehru Touches A Jazzy Jeff Track & It’s Magnificent (Audio)

Bishop Nehru is an artist who clearly respects his Hip-Hop forefathers. Early in the Lex Records artist’s career, he linked with DOOM (f/k/a MF DOOM) for a full-length project. Also down with the Mass Appeal label, it was reported in late 2014 that Nas would executive produce the MC’s upcoming studio LP. While that has yet to happen, the Upstate New Yorker continues to churn out music that is well aware of the culture and styles of the 1990s and early 2000s.

The just-released “Love What You Do” is no exception. Here, Bishy takes DJ Jazzy Jeff’s “magnificent” “For Da Love Of Da Game” instrumental, and gets busy. There’s more than a touch of Jazz on this track. On his rendition, Nehru locks in with an air-tight flow about his craft, rising status, and commitment to live out his creative passions.

DJ Jazzy Jeff’s Protege Dayne Jordan is a True Storytelling MC (Album Stream)

2002’s The Magnificent features one of Oddisee’s earliest appearances, as well as features from Last Emperor, Bumpy Knuckles, and J-Live. Like Bishop Nehru, Jazzy Jeff has been fast at work at another talent MC (Dayne Jordan) with an old soul.
