Curren$y Takes A Dr. Dre Line & Lets It Ride (Audio)

Curren$y contends to be the most prolific MC of 2016. The New Orleans, Louisiana veteran has released a free EP or a mixtape every month up ’til June. In doing so, he’s linked with a host of producers (Cool & Dre and Alchemist). However, even those projects have not tapped the brakes on Spitta Andretti’s usual output of loosies.

“Still At It” teams the onetime Warner Bros. Records artist with ID Labs’ E-Dan. The longtime producer for Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, Snoop Dogg and others gives Curren$y a synth-driven with double-time percussion that works to the Jet Life pilot’s favor. The MC builds his chorus around a proud line from Dr. Dre’s 1999 comeback single, “Still D.R.E.” Like Andre Young, Spitta prides himself on keeping a calm head while driving ’64 Chevy Impalas.
