Rick Ross Raps On His First Pete Rock Track & Smokes It (Audio)

On Rick Ross’s most recent album, 2015’s Black Market, he notably recruited DJ Premier for some scratches. In ’16, Rozay works with another legendary DJ/producer, blessing a Pete Rock track, from P.R. and Smoke DZA’s Don’t Smoke Rock collaborative LP (December 2).

“Black Superhero Car” is reminiscent of Wale, Jadakiss, and Rick’s “600 Benz” 2011 video single, in that the song salutes the same top-of-the-line Mercedes, and other big body rides. DZA and Rick describe rolling hard in the German machinery, counting money, and elevating their minds. Pete Rock accents the track with a complex drum arrangement and smooth strings. The producer also drops in some of his signature background vocals, as well as some scratches toward the end (cutting up the trademark “Maybach Music” tag, nonetheless).

Don’t Smoke Rock also features Royce 5’9″, Big K.R.I.T., and Mac Miller, among others.
