The Jigmastas was a prominent 1990s and early 2000s duo of DJ Spinna and Kriminul (aka Krim). With Underground Hip-Hop history with Eminem, Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch, and the late Guru, this Brooklyn, New York collective has been quiet for much of the last decade, since their days with Tommy Boy Records’ Black Label. However, in 2016, Krim and Spinna began releasing some legacy material with BBE Records (Pete Rock, J Dilla, will.i.am). Included on The Resurgence is the this near title track, “The Resurge.” A video releases showing that while the output has been slow, the skills (beats or rhymes) have not dulled.
