Daz Dillinger & The Twinz’ Funky Video Is 3 OG’s Kicking Street Wisdom In The LBC
Tha Dogg Pound’s Daz Dillinger makes a lot of music after 25 years. The MC/producer who reps Long Beach, California starts off 2018 with some of that G-Funk that his fans crave. “Hard Life” reunites one of the most recognized voices of the DPG family with Warren G’s onetime proteges, The Twinz. Back in 1995, Wayniac and Trip Locc released Conversation to Top 40 success at Def Jam Records. They released hit singles “Round & Round” and “Eastside LB,” produced by another Chronic assistant in Warren.
With Daz, The Twinz spit game about how the LBC is still a wild place to live. The three voices settle into the beat (co-produced by Daz) nicely, as Dilly’ shows off his trophies from a storied Gangsta Rap career. The song’s melodic delivery, smooth beat, and real-life wisdom align with his most acclaimed solo LP, 1997’s gold-certified Retaliation, Revenge & Get Back. Trip follows, then Wayniac. Each Twin has that laid-back delivery that made them a great extension of the G-Funk movement.
