Court Documents Allege Fabolous Beat His Girlfriend Emily B & Threatened Her Family

Fabolous was arrested this week. On Wednesday evening (March 28), the Brooklyn, New York MC turned himself into the Englewood Police Department, the town of his New Jersey residence. According to Us Weekly (who spoke with authorities), Fab’s arrest took place approximately 30 minutes later for felony aggravated assault and making a terroristic threat.

The 40-year-old artist born John Jackson was allegedly involved in a physical altercation with his longtime girlfriend and former Love & Hip Hop: New York cast member Emily B (aka Emily Bustamante). Today (March 30), local news site North Jersey reports that the charges stem from seven punches to the face of his girlfriend, causing her to lose two teeth, as well as making verbal threats to the woman’s brother and father.

Fabolous Gets Ceremonial Key To Brooklyn & A Street Named After Him

This week’s incident is reportedly related to a March 7 dispute between the couple that involves text message evidence. Allegedly, the Street Family founder and Def Jam Records artist discovered his girlfriend was in Los Angeles, California at the same time he was, unbeknownst to him. He allegedly sent threatening text messages before arriving home. Upon Fab’s return to New Jersey, the court documents accuse him of beating his girlfriend and telling two of her family members that he “had bullets” for them, after two hand guns were reportedly removed from the rapper’s home without his knowledge.

North Jersey specifies, “According to an affidavit of probable cause, while on a flight back from Los Angeles, [Emily B] told police that [Fabolous] said via text he wanted to hit her in the head with a baseball bat and that he would kill her but he ‘did not want to go out like that.’ The victim told police she was scared because of the March 7 incident. The victim was later punched by Jackson seven times in the face ‘causing severe damage to her two front teeth.’ She ended up losing her two front teeth, according to court documents.”

Fab’s’ attorney, Alberto Ebanks, told Billboard this week, “I’ve known [Fabolous] close to 20 years and believe he is incapable of engaging in the alleged conduct.” Neither Fabolous nor Emily B has released statements on the incident.

Fabolous and Emily B have two children together.

In late 2017, Fabolous and Jadakiss partnered to release Friday On Elm Street. It debuted in the Top 10. One year ago this month, Fabolous received a ceremonial key to Brooklyn and had a street named after him.
