Rick Ross Is Reportedly On Life Support After Being Rushed To The Hospital

Rick Ross has reportedly been checked into a Miami hospital after he was found unresponsive at his residence in the same city early Thursday (March 2) morning.

According to TMZ, there was an emergency 911 call made because the Maybach Music label boss had been initially unconscious when he was found by someone in his camp at his Miami mansion. A police source who assisted the caller reported that after Ross regained consciousness, he was allegedly combative and was “slobbing” at the mouth. The caller also reportedly stated in the 911 call that Ross has a history of suffering seizures.

When paramedics arrived on the scene, they assisted Ross with respiratory treatment for what they believed may be pneumonia. An additional source in Ross’ camp also told TMZ that the Miami rapper suffers from heart-related issues.

As Ross continued to receive medical assistance in the hospital, his condition became more serious. TMZ reports that Ross has been hooked up to machines to assist his breathing and the functioning of his heart. The doctors stated to TMZ  that he was on a “form of life support” called extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). The function of this life support is to oxygenate the blood prior to it being pumped back into the patient’s body.

Ross is reportedly in the hospital’s cardio unit. There is a possibility that he suffered a heart attack in the process of his respiratory problem. In 2011, Ross suffered two seizures on two different flights on the same day.

Rick Ross has been one of Rap’s most prominent names for the past two decades.
