Cardi B Finesses The Charts & Breaks 2 New Guinness Records
Cardi B’s music may not be polarizing in the eyes of some Hip-Hop Heads, but the numbers do not lie. The Bronx, New York rapper has an unabashed energy that has attracted a wide fan-base, and her numbers reflect her rapid rise in popularity. She is literally on top of the charts…and that does not seem to be slowing down.
In only a short time this vivacious reality TV star-turned-major label artist has become the darling of Billboard. She started breaking records last year when “Bodak Yellow” became The Longest Charting #1 Hit By An Unaccompanied Female Rapper, beating out Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” from 1998.
Cardi B Is The 1st Solo Woman Rapper In 19 Years To Have A #1 Record
Now, with the release of her debut album Invasion Of Privacy at the beginning of April, she is on a tear. Guinness World Records reports that she has broken the records for “Most Simultaneous Billboard US Hot 100 Entries By A Female” with 13 songs, and “Most Simultaneous Billboard US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Top 10 Entries By a Female” with five songs (“Finesse (Remix),” “No Limit,” “Bartier Cardi,” “Bodak Yellow,” and “Motorsport”). She broke Beyoncé’s records in both categories. Cardi is also only the fifth female rapper to hit #1 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart.
