Childish Gambino Releases 2 New Songs That Feel As Good As The Summer Sun (Audio)

Hi. We recently created AFH TV, Ambrosia For Heads’ streaming video service, because we believe real Hip-Hop deserves its own dedicated TV home. But, there are doubters, so, we need your help. If you have enjoyed anything on AFH over the last 7 years, we are asking you to subscribe to AFH TV. It is only $1.99/month or $12/year, and already features some amazing content, but the best is yet to come. Thank you for all of your support.

Life is too short to listen to bad music. So…let AFH fight through it for you and only supply you with that great stuff. Despite the reports, Hip-Hop is alive and well and, in many ways, is better than it’s ever been. Not only are we able to go back and listen to all of our favorites, at the click of a button, there is also a ton of great music still being made by artists, young and veteran alike…if you know where to look. To help with that task, we’ve created a playlists with recent music—songs that have been released within the last year or so. We update it regularly, so, if you like what you hear, subscribe to follow us on Spotify.

Following the first #1 song of his career (and first in the Top 10), Childish Gambino follows up “This Is America” with a completely different sound. In a two-single EP called Summer Pack, Donald Glover picnics two songs suitable for the warmer months. “Summertime Magic” and “Feels Like Summer” are straightforward R&B/Pop songs from the virtuoso that makes Hip-Hop, Funk, Trap, and Soul, apart from a booming Hollywood career. The former song uses synth and crooning to capture the ultimate feeling when the mercury rises, attraction boils, and the nights are longer. The latter song is the perfectly complementary companion. Multi-tracked vocals bring emphasis to Gambino’s celebration of that June, July, and August slice of life. Summer Pack follows Drake’s Scary Hours as a trend in double-singles digitally packaged together. Both songs are included in AFH‘s official playlist:

Cole, Logic, Kendrick Lamar, Black Milk, Eminem, Lute, Jeezy, Wiz Khalifa, Statik Selektah, Brent Faiyaz, Freddie Gibbs, CyHi The Prynce, Saba, Scarface, Rapsody, Sylvan LaCue, Evidence, Fabolous, Jadakiss, Big K.R.I.T., Nipsey Hussle, and a host of others.
