Hi. We recently created AFH TV, Ambrosia For Heads’ streaming video service, because we believe real Hip-Hop deserves its own dedicated TV home, but we need your help to make it great. Please subscribe to AFH TV. It is only $1.99/month or $12/year, and already features some amazing content, but the best is yet to come. Thank you for all of your support.

UPDATE: Following an altercation with Nicki Minaj just hours ago, Cardi B has released a statement. Written to Nicki, the Instagram post alleges that Minaj attempted to black-ball Cardi in the industry. Cardi also says that she confronted Nicki twice about the reported behind-the-scenes tactics to hold back the Bronx, New York rapper’s collaborations and opportunities.

However, the altercation stemmed from Nicki reportedly criticizing Cardi B’s mothering. The Atlantic Records rapper gave birth in the last year, fathered by Migos member (and Nicki collaborator) Offset. “When you mention my child, you choose to like comments about me as a mother, make comments about my abilities to take care of my daughter is when all bets are f*ckin’ off!” Cardi continued, “I’ve worked [too] hard and come too far to let anybody f*ck with my success! B*tches talk all that sh*t in they raps but in real life they p*ssy,” she charges.

Along with some video footage, several attendees have confirmed the event on social media:

One attendee stated online that Nicki assaulted Cardi B with a punch to the face:

This beef, while subliminal, has been lingering for more than a year. Many fans have pitted the two New York City female rappers against each other since 2017. At a time when Nicki Minaj was out of the limelight, said to be working on Queen, Cardi ascended to a chart-topping, mainstream-penetrating Rap star. Earlier this year, her Invasion Of Privacy took the #1 spot on the charts that Queen did not—a point that Nicki has taken umbrage with as recently as this week.

Last year, the two appeared on Migos’ “MotorSport” during perceived tensions. However, like LL Cool J and Canibus nearly 20 years ago, the collaboration was mired in controversy. After speculation that the two artists’ lyrics on the song were aimed at one another, each artist refuted reports. However, Nicki stated that the song was initially planned to be her and Quavo.
