Method Man Shows These Wack Rappers How To Rock A Trap Beat Properly

Today (December 14), Method Man releases his second installment to The Meth Lab series. Season 2: The Lithium is the sophomore volume in the journey that began in 2015 sees the Wu-Tang Clan O.G. building his chemical bond with fellow Staten Island, New Yorker, Hanz On. The pair involves peers such as Redman, Snoop Dogg, Raekwon, N.O.R.E., and Sheek Louch. Additionally, Meth’ remains committed to showcasing new talent, especially from his borough, including his nearly 25-year-right-hand-man Streetlife.

Among the 22 tracks, one standout is “Killing The Game.” The song begins with artist Pretty Blanco rapping. However, many Heads’ interest will pique at 1:30 with Method Man tries his hand at a Trap beat. “I’m back in my stash, we back in the lab / Got killas in back of your pad with ratchets and masks / We ’bout to catch us a bag, couldn’t find no matches or gas / I’m mashin’ the gas, I done mastered the class / Do not give these rappers a pass / These rappers is trash / I give these rappers the drag then ask, ‘Is you mad or you mad?’ / Haters, I’m flickin’ ’em all / Critics have written ’em off,” opens M-E-T-H-O-D Man. His quick bars punctuate the beat well for a different kind of vibe than what’s found on the rapper’s solo albums.

Method Man, Joey Bada$$ & J.I.D. Go Nuts On One Of The Year’s Best Collabos

Throughout his extensive 25-year-career, Meth’ has worked with an amazing cast of diverse producers: RZA, Erick Sermon, DJ Premier, Puff Daddy, and Rockwilder, just to name a few. Each of those names has given Iron Lung a unique sound to attack. This “Killing The Game” moment from Meth Lab Season 2: The Lithium showcases Mr. Mef’ in a new light and shows that one of Rap’s greatest flows can do his thing on any type of track.

Last year, another lyrical giant, Royce 5’9, tried his hand at some Trap sounds on his Bar Exam 4 mixtape with DJ Green Lantern.
