DJ Jazzy Jeff & MICK Heat It Up For The 10th Straight Summertime Mix (Audio)

The legendary DJ Jazzy Jeff gets together with noted mixtape DJ, MICK, annually to drop a definitive mix to welcome the hot weather of July and August. Their Summertime Mixtape Volume 10 marks a full decade that they have been knocking out these season specific collections of jams. So, of course, they made this one extra special.

Formerly known as Mick Boogie, the Brooklyn (by way of Ohio) mix-master was well known in the mid-2000s for his comprehensive concept tapes that always had big name hosts and tons of exclusives. While many DJs at the time were simply beat mixing the newest singles of the moment in a bid to be first to drop them, MICK has always given listeners projects full of blends, remixes, rarities and unreleased material. In 2010 he linked with one of his biggest inspirations, Jazzy Jeff, to put together a feel good mix named after the greatest Summer Hip-Hop song of all time, DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince’s “Summertime.”
