Jeezy Flips A Classic Jay & Beans Beat To Launch His TM 104 Campaign (Audio)

AUGUST 2 UPDATE: Jeezy has released the “1 Time” music video:

ORIGINAL JULY 3 STORY: It has been a year and a half since Jeezy released Pressure. At the top of this year, the CTE founder partnered with Boston George for a collaborative free mixtape, Boston George & Diego (embedded below). However, many longtime fans have been eagerly waiting a return to the Thug Motivation series, which has been on ice since 2011’s TM: 103 Hustlerz Ambition.

Entering July, Jeezy makes it snow with “1 Time.” The song has that booming command that made the Atlanta, Georgia trap star a platinum standout since the mid-2000s. Notably, it plays very closely to JAY-Z & Beanie Sigel’s “Stick 2 The Script,” produced by Just Blaze. This version is credited to Sonaro and DJ Ace.

As usual, Jeezy blends club-tinged sounds with street certified accounts of his rise to legal stardom. “You ever see a Narco’ in the booth? / I’m talkin’ ’bout 36 O’s, white as your tooth / Desert Eagle look like a flute / Talkin’ so many chickens, I had to get me a coop,” raps the Def Jam mainstay. Jeezy is clearly in his TM bag, as this song sounds like 2000s Snowman.

One day after Rick Ross, Swizz Beatz, and Just Blaze dropped “BIG TYME,” it’s a big week for fans of these 2000s Rap juggernauts.
