Ludacris Manager & DTP President Chaka Zulu Recovering After Shooting
UPDATE: Days after a triple shooting that took the life of one of the victims, Chaka Zulu is recovering and reportedly in stable condition, according to a statement from former Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed.
“We are fortunate to report that Chaka Zulu is in stable condition and recovering. The family thanks everyone for their well wishes and prayers and asks for their privacy at this time,” Reed reportedly told local Atlanta news channel WSB-TV, per XXL.
ORIGINAL STORY: Music executive Chaka Zulu is recognized for his role in Ludacris’ career as the rapper-actor’s longtime manager. The businessman has also been at the helm of Disturbing Tha Peace Records during the label’s peak run with Shawnna, Chingy, I-20, and others. Chaka and Chaka’s brother, Jeff Dixon, joined Ludacris at the Def Jam-distributed label in the 2000s and 2010s. He also worked closely with Big K.R.I.T. during the last decade, while serving as an executive at Monster electronics. In 2019, Chaka joined Spotify as Head of Artist & Talent Relations.
On Sunday night (June 26), Chaka Zulu was shot in Atlanta, Georgia’s Buckhead section. 11 Alive confirmed that the attack took place off of Peachtree Road, outside a restaurant called Apt4b.

Three individuals, including Chaka, were shot. One man reportedly succumbed to injuries. Officers on the scene told the news site that an argument transpired in a parking lot, reportedly escalating to the fatal incident.
XXL reports that Chaka Zulu is undergoing emergency surgery in a nearby hospital. The music publication reports that the assailant is still at large.
