Project Pat Releases Sequel To Mista Don’t Play Album, 14 Years Later
Memphis, Tennessee veteran MC Project Pat’s best selling album is 2001’s Mista Don’t Play: Everythangs Workin’. A platinum effort, the Hypnotized Minds/Loud/Universal Records effort thrived amidst a Three 6 Mafia mainstream breakthrough. Produced by Three 6’s Juicy J and DJ Paul, the album, thanks in large part to “Chickenhead” would prove to be a Soul City classic, as far as Rap is concerned.
Today, as a sneak-attack surprise to many, P-Squared followed his 2001 benchmark LP with Mista Don’t Play 2: Everythang’s Money. Released on eOne Entertainment, Pat’s effort includes a series of top-drawing artists, such as Wiz Khalifa, Wale, as well as Juicy J. Seventeen tracks in all, the release is Pat’s first since 2011’s Loud Pack.
Given Juicy J’s tremendous pop culture breakthrough, in addition to Paul’s two reality TV series—along with Three 6 Mafia’s Academy Award a decade ago, can Pat relive some of that “ghetty green” glory like his Hypnotized cohorts, from the early 2000s?
