Trae Tha Truth Rescues Hurricane Harvey Evacuees By Boat (Video)

UPDATE: Trae Tha Truth has now launched a crowd-funding site for Hurricane Harvey victims.

ORIGINAL AUGUST 29 STORY: Since the mid-2000s, Trae Tha Truth has become a figurehead of Houston’s Hip-Hop scene. At a time of dire need, the Hustle Gang member (and label VP) has stepped up in a big way. During a local FOX 26 feature, the veteran MC was shown traveling by boat to help neighbors evacuate their flooded homes. “I felt helpless yesterday when I had to be rescued, so I know that feeling,”  said the onetime Screwed Up Click member. In the video, he said that his efforts have been over the course of several days. In the six-minute video, Trae details going to homes where residents did not want to leave. The rapper empathizes with his neighbors feeling that way.

Trae has had days within H-Town dedicated to him and his community efforts. Earlier this year, the MC pledged 75 scholarships to local students.
